On the card
A naked man and woman stand beneath a great angel, usually identified as Raphael, whose arms spread over them in blessing from a bank of cloud. Behind the woman grows the Tree of Knowledge with a serpent coiled in its branches; behind the man, a tree bearing twelve flames. A mountain rises between them and the sun blazes overhead. The woman looks toward the angel and the man looks toward her: desire directed through the heart toward something higher.

A significant relationship or partnership is coming into alignment, and it asks you to choose it consciously. Beyond romance, the card points to any decision where your values and your desires must agree. Choose what you can stand behind without hiding.

Reversed

Something is out of balance between two people, or between what you want and what you believe. The reversed Lovers describes miscommunication, one-sided effort, or an attraction that pulls you away from your own standards. A choice is being avoided, and the avoidance is itself a choice.

Disconnection, fear of commitment, or a temptation that threatens something solid. Conversations are being postponed that need to happen now.

A partnership on shaky terms, or a decision made against your own judgement. Financial disagreements need to be aired honestly.
