The turn of the cycle. Fortune rises and falls, and the Wheel marks the moment something shifts beyond your control.
On the card
A great wheel hangs in the sky inscribed with the letters TARO, which can also be read as ROTA, the wheel, interleaved with the Hebrew letters of the divine name and the alchemical signs for mercury, sulphur, water and salt. A sphinx with a sword sits on top, the jackal-headed Anubis rises on the right and the serpent Typhon descends on the left. In the four corners a winged bull, lion, eagle and man read from open books: the fixed signs of the zodiac, steady while everything between them turns.
Upright
General
A turning point is arriving and the momentum is with you. What has been stuck begins to move, often through luck, timing or events you did not arrange. Accept change as the normal condition of life and position yourself to benefit from it.
Love & relationships
A chance meeting or a relationship entering a new phase. Something fated tends to feel like it, and the current cycle favours openness.
Career & money
Unexpected opportunity, a favourable shift in circumstances, or a lucky break with money. Take the opening while the wheel is at the top.
Reversed
General
The wheel is turning the other way, or you are gripping the rim trying to stop it. Reversed, this card brings setbacks, delays and bad luck that are largely outside your control, and it also points to patterns you keep repeating because the lesson has not landed. What you can control is your response.
Love & relationships
A downturn, or an on-again, off-again pattern. Ask what keeps bringing you back to the same place.
Career & money
Plans upended by external forces, a run of poor financial luck, or a reversal that was not your fault. Stay flexible and avoid gambling on a quick recovery.
Advice
Ride the change rather than fighting it. When the wheel turns down, prepare; when it turns up, act.
